This month’s discussion topic:  ”Media: How Fantasy Becomes Reality.” What are your earliest memories of seeing LGBT people in the media? What are your thoughts or feelings about how those images have changed? Do you see yourself reflected?

This month’s discussion topic: “Healing from Trauma through Personal and Cultural Narrative.” Group facilitator, NjorogeTho-Biaz, will read from his book, “A Stroke of Genius:  Awakening the Sleeping Intuitive Healing Power Within,” in a brief 3-minute reading of his personal stroke story. We will learn specific strategies for using personal and cultural narrative as self-care, to help empower, and to heal from trauma. We will reflect on our own stories and how stories are used in our culture and community.

This month’s discussion topic: “What’s On Your ‘Bucket’ List?” Come share about your must-do, must-see experiences before you die.  Has your list changed as you’ve gotten older? If so, how? How many of on your list have you “checked off” as having done?

Come meet our new discussion group facilitator and brainstorm topic ideas for the coming year.  

Time permitting, this month’s discussion topic: “Young People’s Perspectives on LGBT Aging: Questions, Concerns, Fears, etc.” Younger LGBT individuals will be invited to participate in a Q & A session with segments where they will ask questions of seniors about their history in the LGBT movement. Next, seniors will ask what it’s like being young and LGBT today.
