Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the Openhouse. Volunteers ensure we’re able to meet our mission to serve our growing community of LGBT seniors as they age in the city they’ve always called home. Here are just a few of the many opportunities to volunteer with Openhouse:

Assist us with outreach by distributing flyers about Openhouse activities and events in senior-friendly spaces around the city.

Become a community leader to work with LGBT older adults in your neighborhood.

Advocate with public officials for funding, housing and services.

Stay Informed

Openhouse sends one or two e-mails per month to people who have signed up on our email list. Our emails include information about volunteer opportunities, our LGBT discussion groups, presentations on available resources, and “how-to” seminars on getting into affordable housing and accessing other services. We also provide updates on our affordable housing facility at 55 Laguna Street. Our emails are a great way to stay informed about the latest developments at openhouse the news and information you need!
